Recently, I decided to transform my living room, not to follow trends, but to create a space that feels genuinely comfortable and emotionally calming. After thoughtful research and planning, I achieved a design that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.
Choosing a Calm and Luxurious Color Palette
I chose peaceful, soft colors—matte light blue and grey—to set the foundation of my living room. These colors are naturally calming and create a sense of quiet elegance.
The walls were painted matte light blue, a finish that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. This creates what I like to call visual silence—a soothing effect that reduces eye strain and makes the room feel grounded. Blue, the color of the sky, naturally reduces stress and brings a feeling of openness. It also makes the living room appear airy, spacious, and larger than it actually is.
